Default thrust washer question

When installing the thrust washer, do the grooves face towards each other or away from each other??

I did a seach and all I came up with is: "the grooves facing toward the crank." (which I don't quite understand )

Grooves face towards the crank. No matter what side you look from.

yes, I know the grooves face "towards the crank" already. Maybe I should re-state my question:

There are 2 thrust washers. Each thrust washer has 2 sides (1 grooved, 1 non-grooved). Now when the thrust washers are in place, will the grooves on one thrust washer be facing the the grooves on the other thrust washer, or not?

The grooves face towards the crank journal no matter what side you're looking from.

when the thrust washer(s) are installed, the smooth side of the thrust washer will go against the block(inward), and the grooved side will go against the thrust surface on the crank(outward). when both are installed, the groove side will face away from each other
