Sorry to bump this old thread, im having same problem. been through 3 gaskets (1 was OEM) and even swapped the sump out because my original was quite warped to say the least.

Can anybody else recommend the HondaHabit gasket kits?

The gasket looks the same as the JS products one to me (stiff)

Im hoping any of these two gaskets will sort my leak out

if your oil pan is warped then nothing gonna help you

just a note. mine is fed up and beat up although it sealed better with myhondahabit gasket it still leaks where the pan has warped surface

never heard of a warped pan...but you might be able to make it work still if you use thread lock on the threads of the bolts before you torque to specs...just let it cure for a couple days

if it's leaking it's probabably because you didn't scrape all the old sealant off and/or you allowed oil to leak onto the surface as you put the gasket/pan on the block and before you torqued it down...it's best to use a towel to wipe up above the block surface area to get any residual oil that may leak onto the surface as you set the pan and put the bolts on

also you want to torque the bolts inside out....don't go corners in...that won't seal

oil pan gets banged up when you try to straighten it back out you warp it.

it gets warped from overtightening
mine is leaking because the gasket surface was damaged and bent a little bit

Anyone know for sure if these gaskets fit the D series pan? I see multiple posts about using them on CRX's, but I dont wanna spend 80 bucks to order a kit for my d15b2 and it not fit right. As far as I can tell from looking at it, the problems with the mating points are identical and the pan looks about the same, but I dont like to order aftermarket parts without being sure. Appreciate any response.

A B series oil pan gasket won't fit any D series.

The problem with oem gaskets leaking is not the design, it's from people over tightening them. They will squish too much if over tightened and possibly tear. The best way to make the gaskets not leak is to use blue loctite on all the bolts and to tighten them snugly. It takes very little torque for the rubber to do its job. Dont go all hulk on the ratchet. I also put small dabs of grey sealant on the 4 corners where the oil pump and rear main seal housing meets the block. Never have any issues. I have a moroso pan as well.

I just checked their site too to verify stock and, sure enough, they are in stock. I noticed on twitter that they are also making an intake manifold gasket. I might try that out because the plastic one I've been using has been encroaching on my runners with the common bulge at the bottom of the runner port area.

Here's the kit I'm looking at:

You may be pushing oil past your gasket from excess crank pressure if you not venting.

update:
besides the 3 other myhondahabit gaskets ive installed none leaked so far

I reused my first hondahabit gasket 4 times. after 4th time it finally soaked so much that it didn't seal
but first 3 times it sealed great even with damaged oil pan.
I switched to oem Honda gasket using same oil pan( I don't have any left that are good)
it leaked first time I drove it.

Well i have installed several of these pans, used OEM gaskets, Napa, Altrom, Yonaka, etc, never had any leaks. Not sure what the issue is here.

the issue is deformed oil pans.
the oil pan has to be straight as a glass to seal. any kind of deformity it will leak.
and by leaks most people don't mean pouring oil out. leaks as in oil building up around oil pan and seeping out slowly.
the hondahabit gasket allows you to tighten the bolts without deforming the oil pan or squishing the gasket out.

I have 5 oil pans and only one with 90% straight surface and even that one is not completely straight

most of the Hondas on the road leak oil from the oil pan even after replacing it.

3 of my oil pans have deformed around the bolts from overtightening.
1 is damaged from someone bending it
the bent one didn't seal for **** even with gasket maker with oem style gasket but it sealed well enough with hondahabit 3 times with just slight seepage around the seal

I am a bit annoyed with all of the ads for the Honda habit gaskets. I don't really care to reuse a old gasket as I like to use new gaskets when I do things. At $60 bucks they are 3 times the cost of a normal one and twice as much as the Honda OEM. Go buy a new oil pan if yours is warped or twisted (using the money you saved from NOT buying HH gasket).

I have also used a variety of oil pan gaskets including Honda OEM. All of the gaskets sealed fine. I am quite happy with the Victor Reinz one as it seems to be a bit thicker than the Honda OEM. Keep in mind that the Honda OEM and the Victor Reinz ones have little washers embedded in the gasket to prevent the gasket from being crushed. The oil pan is designed to prevent the gasket from being crush with 2 protruding dimples around each bolt hole. I installed my gaskets dry with only 4 small dabs of Honda bond on where the oil pump meets the block and where the rear main cap meets the block. I placed the gasket on to the engine block first then mate the oil pan to the block. Loosely put all of the bolts and nuts on first then tighten them the same amount until the pan, seal, and block are all snug. I did not torque my bolts down but used a small 1/4" ratchet to tighten the fasteners snug tight.

Look for other sources for oil leaks like the Oil pump O ring seal or the Distributer O ring seal. In fact go look at those seals first for leaks.

Definitely change the oil pump O ring seal when you do the timing belt. It will save you a lot of headaches down the road. In my case the oil pump slowly leaked oil on to the block and on to the oil pan making it seem like the oil pan was leaking.

An easy way to trouble shoot the oil O ring leak is to jack up the car (place it on jack stand) remove the front driver side wheel. Start the engine and inspect the area around the oil pump O ring and look for leaks.

The best kit I found for this is the Felpro Crankshaft seal kit part number TCS45904. The kit contains the O ring, oil pickup gasket, crankshaft seal (3/8" steel back not the cheap 1/4" one), and a tube of RTV for about $15.

Good luck.

why are you so annoyed? do you have any interest in them not being sold?
where are you installing them, your personal cars or customer's cars?
you are forgetting 2 instances where it would help

when you have excessive crankcase pressure
and when you have aftermarket or modified oil pan that is not as cheap to replace as stock oem.

btw felpro seals are not made to exact oem specs. their seals are thinned so they leak faster
yes I measured 4 different brands and only 2 were made to exact oem specs

btw your math doesn't add up
you spend 60 bucks on oil pan you still have to buy the gasket

and also show me a link for that 60 dollar oil pan. becaue they seem to have disappeared lately all I see is moroso everywhere

Let me clarify. I think the HH product has its place in a given application (forced induction or heavily modified engines). I am not keen on their marketing when they shill sites and forums with post things like:

================

Typerwhat
….
My wife's LS is leaking oil at the gasket now... It's totally stock. I'm ordering another gasket from myhondahabit (Home page) along with the stud kit as long as I'm going in there. It doesn't make sense to replacing a leaking rubber gasket with another rubber gasket. It's nice that the myhondahabit gasket goes on just like the OEM. Torque specs, pattern, Hondabond, and all are exactly the same. It makes it super easy to implement a new part when the process is the same.

Can't tell if advertising..

SexySSBP

^Same. I shall make a Fry meme when I'm not at work, lol. Only 2 posts, each containing a link to a product he goes on about...hmmmm….

================

As for Oil pans, Rock Auto has replacement ones for as low as $50. Sorry RockAuto.com does not link well but look under 1996 Integra and you will find it.
