Cylinder walls messed up. Any info how?

1st I wouldn't boost that engine unless you want to run it till it blows!
2nd It looks like maybe muratic acid somehow got into your cooling system or acids formed when your head gasket blew? Muratic acid melts aluminum easily and is the same stuff they use to balance pools PH. Maybe someone mixed some in with some coolant by mistake? IDK just guessing

boosting would not be a good idea. the cylinder walls are going to be very weak. i just seen something like that on a water pump on a dodge van. Not exactly sure what causes it though.

thanks alot guys. ya i buy the car from cali and i have always had a problem with the cooling system. would it be ok to run a new headgasket and headstuds or should i start looking for another one motor? there is a piece missing that is pretty close to the inside wall. thanks again

This can be caused by several things.
1. Lack of proper coolant mixture. The mixture wil lower the freezing point and protect against galvanic corrosion like in the pictures.
2. Use of poluted water. The coolant water must be destilated or de-ionized. If not, elements in the water will cause oksidation of the cylinderwalls and other parts like in the pictures or make calsium deposits if the water has a high % of calsium.
If the water is in the acid state and there is no coolant like glycol, the acid will transfer electrons between the differens metals that the engine is made of. The metal with the lowest voltage will be "eaten" up and end up like oxide (white stuff you see on the pictures). Building a motor with the same metals/alloys is almost impossible. That means that galvanic corrosion will occour, and it is therefore very important to use proper coolant mixture with 100% clean water.
3. Cavitation of water due to high flowing water currents.
My opinion, use a good block for a turbo build. If the block blows, you will loose time and money. Blocks is rather cheap in the US, so why go for less.. The pictures show destroyed gasket seal area. Not the best when increasing the combusion pressure..

Naw man your fine. Ya when i bought the car i notice in some spots were getting eatin away. must of been the people i bought it from before. cool ill put it back together and just leave it stock. thanks for all the help.
