H22/H23 BUILD HELP!!
I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT BUILDING A H22/H23 MOTOR FOR SOMETIME NOW WITH THE EXTRA PARTS I HAVE LAYING AROUND FROM MY H22A TURBO BUILD I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON FOR MY EK.
KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS WILL BE GOING INTO MY DEL SOL THAT I DRIVE 80+ MILES ROUND TRIP TO WORK 5 DAYS A WEEK. I HAVE A H23 BOTTOM END THAT I WAS GONNA USE I FOR THE TURBO BUILD BUT DECIDED TO KEEP THE BORE X STOKE OF THE H22A AT 90 X 90.7 KEEPING IT AS CLOSE TO PERFECT AS I COULD. I HAVE A SPARE H22 HEAD THAT I HAVE BEEN KEEPING JUST IN CASE THE OVER SIZED VALVES IN THE TURBO SET UP DID'NT WORK OUT.
I WAS THINKING ABOUT TYPE S PISTONS IN THE H23 BLOCK WITH STOCK RODS AND DO A LIGHT PORT AND POLISH JOB ON THE HEAD USING A STOCK VALVE TRAIN WITH TYPE S CAMS. EVERYTHING WILL BE OEM AND NOTHING AFTERMARKET TO KEEP IT AS RELIABLE AS POSSIBLE. I DON'T, HOWEVER, HAVE A P13 COMPUTER TO USE BUT I DO HAVE A STOCK H23 COMPUTER AND A VTEC AFC.
I KNOW THE H23 AND H22 BLOCK ARE ALMOST IDENTICAL AND THAT IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE I WILL HAVE TO RUN AN EXTERNAL OIL LINE LIKE THE LS/VTEC. SO DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS AT ALL POSSIBLE OR KNOW OF ANYONE THAT HAS TRIED THIS? ALSO CAN A H23 COMPUTER WITH A VTEC CONTROLLER BE ENOUGH TO RUN A MOTOR LIKE THIS? ANY INFO WOULD BE GREAT.

The bore is 87mm. You don't have to be "square" for a daily driver either. just use the h22 engine. don't use the type-s pistons either. i would also suggest using an ecu to tune with and have a map burned vs. a vafc.
