Default breaking up around 4k , sputtering and no vtec after dist. lockup in EF built GSR

ok here goes distributer locked and i rebuilt it had a code 8(crank angle), I got rid of the code finally . I had no vtec checked the codes , I had a code 21 (vtec solenoid) . I put 12 vots to the solenoid and it clicked , checked my wiring it was good . Afriend of mine played w/ my vafc and the code went away . Went down the road and it felt like crap. When i was returning from my crappy ride the motor started breaking up around 4k and the tachometer started going crazy and bouncing around . Please keep in mind that the motor felt great and pulled real hard b4 the dist. problems . Im running a eriks racing reprogrammed pr3 and a vafc any ideas . Thanx guys >>> evan

If the tach is going whacko on you, i had a problem where the battery was dieing. When it was really low it caused poor acceleration towards the end of the RPM range and made my tach go ape ****. On my freinds c5-ed del sol, his coil took a dump resulting in horrible performane above 4500. LOL, when VTEC hit, it slowed down. We went full MSD setup,(external coil) 6al, blaster2 coil, MSD cap. problem fixed and power was gained!

The funny thing is I had a full msd setup and the coil was not giving spark after the dist. rebuild. We put the stock coil back in and it started right up. Maybee it is possible sometrhing is burning out the coil inside the distributer????
