Re: best pistons/rods for d16? (95si)
im not sure of power, around 200hp would be nice, but ultimately low 14s are a nice starting goal. im looking to build up my d16z6 with the usual cams, cam sprocket, pistons, rods, p&p... etc.

just use jome d16zc pistons, they have a higher dome for higher compresion and shotpeen the rods from a zc or get b series rods. put a d16y8 head gasket on it too because it is the thinest stock head gasket for evan higher compresion. the head gasket costs $35 at the dealership. and you can get some used zc pistons and rods for about $50-$100. does that help any?

you wont be able to find forged ones with rods for that cheap (i am building a d16y8 for N/A and a small 50 shot of nitrous). i found a set of zc pistons with rods on thepartstrader.com for $40 shipped. shotpeening is only $5 a rod at "L & M automotive machine service" hear in va.

oh, ok, then go with some nice forged pistons and rods, but when you get performance rods and pistons you'll need to get a better crank. I'm just building a budget drag crx. puting my money in my del sol and a crx drag car is expensive. good luck.

Just go with JE's SRP piston line, and make sure you get a piston designed for nitrous use. Go here for the application guide.
As far as rods go, Eagle are the best bang for the buck and include ARP rod bolts. You should be able to pick all this up for nor more than $800, of course installation will be another matter.
And you don't need a stronger crank, they'll hold up to at least 250hp without problems.
