ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. CIVIC EK DIES WHEN STOPPED
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I have a 96 honda civic
The car runs completely fine but when it reaches to a stop (stop sign, stop light) the car shakes a bit and then the battery and oil light comes on and then the car dies. The car will start right up and ONLY dies when stopped. The negative terminal is a bit loose and the bolt is already tightened all the way to the end. ( i know, i have to get this replaced. ) This happened about a month ago and i left it in the garage for about 2 days while driving another car. Then after the 2 days i came back to it, started it up and never had any problems with it again, till today. Last night, my friend and i were putting on a MOMO steering wheel, so we took off the negative and positive terminals on the battery, and when he put it back on, the same problem started happening again. The civic dies at every stop but will start right up. Any help will be appreciated.
Alternator?
Battery?
Starter?
Just a simple Battery Terminal replacement?
Thanks Again

Check battery voltage and alternator. Start with those. Easy to diagnose and free most of the times.

In addition to the previous suggestion, use a meter set to resistance (ohms) to measure the resistance between clean, bare metal on the parts your ground straps connect to (valve cover, thermostat, etc.) and the battery negative post. Rubbing alcohol or sandpaper can be used to clean the surfaces prior to testing. There should be no resistance. Clean and tighten the ground connections until there is no resistance. As a temporary fix, you can wedge a piece of metal like a bolt or something into the battery negative connector to tighten it up.
Does this only happen when the brake is being used or does it die when idling with your foot off of the brake? Check it out if you're not sure.

Yes the loose battery terminal clamp can cause odd problems. Bad battery would cause a no start, not a stalling problem. Bad alternator would also cause a no start problem because you would have drained the battery if the alternator wasn't charging the battery and caused it to stall. If you have a bad alternator diode set, then you would have multiple odd running problems.
What RPM does the engine idle at? If you have too low of an idle speed, it can cause a stalling coming to a stop condition.
Here is a list of things that can cause the engine to stall:
low fuel pressure
ignition system
MAP sensor
IAC valve
idle speed
CKP,CYP,TDC,CKF sensors
brake switch (yes, brake pedal switch can cause an engine stall)
bad fuel
