how do you tell if an axle is bad
I have a 00 SI. The upper driverside motor mount was shot and the rear mount was torn. Then my car started shaking whenever I accelerated hard. If I babied the gas it was fine and while cruising it was fine I just can't get on it hard or it starts to vibrate. I replaced the motor mounts and put in inserts, I also went out and bought new tires, but the front still vibrates sometimes. Could it be the axle?

Re: how do you tell if an axle is bad (havalilsi)
check the wheel bearings, tie rod ends and ball joints. Jack the car up and see if you can wiggle the wheel around at all.
A bad axle (the CV joint) will usually make a clicking noise when turning
