Front Camber-Kit Question
Hello fellow Honda Tech member's, This will be my first time posting here as i been a lurker on here for some time, So please take it easy on me .
My question is what Brand camber kit's come with the ability to use "Factory" ball joints, Reason i ask is because i purchased one before and i had to keep replacing ball joints after ball joints ect.. and so forth & factory ball joints are more durable 10-Fold. One of my buddies has a camber kit for his EF civic and he uses factory ball joints, ( I say factory meaning i can purchase a different variety of ball joints, some stronger than others). Now i'm not sure if this question has been answered before and i will search for the thread, Thank you for anyone who helps me on this matter.
P.S I car is a 1992 Honda civic 4 door.
-Cheers

Re: Front Camber-Kit Question
Thank you Tyson & Libertariat. Reason i asked Tyson is stated above, i wan't to lower my civic to a 2 1/2 drop, I know someone started a thread stating you do not need a camber kit, i beg to differ but that's my opinion. I would just like either after market control arm's that can have OEM Ball joint's, or now Name brand Camber kit's,
I Just want Strong durable Ball joint's that wont wear out in a month & have to constantly adjust the camber setting due to them coming loose.

Re: Front Camber-Kit Question
Proper alignment, with a stock control arm i would always wear out my inner tire quickly, When i installed a cheap ebay camber kit (You live and learn lol) the ball joints would always go bad fast due to them being cheap POS, but while it lasted my tires didn't wear nearly as quickly, but i swear.. constantly going threw tires ever month or so made my head want to...

What is "proper alignment" for a car that no longer has the stock ride height, spring rate, roll center, camber curve, or toe curve? I can't tell you what the new proper is, but I can absolutely say it isn't what the factory recommended for a stock car...
Zero out your toe, and stop driving aggressively, and you'll get even tire wear, even with the negative camber lowering provided.

Re: Front Camber-Kit Question
It's the adjusting of the camber to less than what lowering provided that is killing the ball joints. The angle between the UCA and knuckle is changed, and the ball joint is running out of available articulation.

If i lower my car and use the stock arms, i'm going to go through tires faster and even with an alignment it wont be nearly as good as if i had an After-Market camber kit. I'm still learning here...

Re: Front Camber-Kit Question
Did you not understand what I meant by using eccentric bushings? Or offset bushings. They use the stock arms and ball joints.

Re: Front Camber-Kit Question
I've only gotten full life out of 4 sets of tires with 3* of camber.
Not really sure why your car would be any different. Get your toe set properly and rotate your tires.

No. Andy has a different opinion on the quality of S2 UCAs and I tend to agree with him. I ordered the AMR kit myself. Not that I needed it. Just wanted it.

Re: Front Camber-Kit Question
Ive been thinking about the same thing as well. I just put the hardrace bushing kit on my car and im going to replace lower ball joints, wheel bearings, and tie rods. I wanted to also replace te upper ball joints but i dont know of any quality ball joints that will fit my ebay camber kit.
I was thinking about just buying oem arms and zeroing the toe but ive done that before and have always worn the inside of the tire a lot quicker than the rest of the tire. A good option would be to go with a ignall style camber kit, then you can keep the stock upper arms but i just replaced my bushing and i want to use them. Im wondering if they offer an oem balljoint that fits the dimension f my camber kit.
