best spring rates for my settup
ok I have a 92 civic hatch with gsr swap 15 inch rotas and like to drop and tuck the tires. I am buying some ground control coilovers from their site the road race with custom springrates.
Need to know what rates u suggest?? needed for street/ occasional drag/ and more autox. not to worried about ride im used to worn out saggy crap noname coilovers anything would be better than that! thinking somewhere around 400f 500r really like the stiffer rears setup. show me your stiff rears setup and how it rides pros cons.. probly get koni yellows..
also on gcs site their coilovers when u buy them it askes for quantity does 1 mean 1 coilover or set of 4. Id think set of 4 but it doesn't specify??
thanxs in advance

That's what I run for my track suspension. It's very stiff and uncomfortable on the street, and I really hate it. There's no reason to run that high of a rate on the street. Albeit, I'm drive all over the cities in the northeast, so the roads are very, very bad.
If you're going to tuck the tires, you'll need to order the pre-shortened race Konis, or get the standard Konis with the extended tophats. Otherwise, you'll be bottoming out constantly, and most likely damage the shock. Depending on how low you are, you may need both.
Either way, to do it properly, you'll spend $$$ and most likely end up with a pretty rough ride.

I forgot to add, that the lower you go, the stiffer your springs will have to be to prevent bottoming out as well.

PM Groundcontrolstore.com he can probably help you out. I was pretty much in the same boat as you. Eg, with 15s, wanted it pretty low, and pretty stiff. I went with the koni yellow, GC, with top hats (HT special kit) (430 fronts 545 rears)

the top hats look cool as hell from the top too

I've got Koni Yellows with GC 400/400 springs with GC top hats on a 00 gsr, so the same suspension as your Civic. In order to tuck the front tire, and I'm only tucked about 1/4", I had to set the front on the bumpstops. I don't think we can really get that low without either compromising the suspension travel range, or buying shorter shocks. I need to get the car off the bumpstops, I somehow didn't notice that it was on them during the install...
