95 Del Sol, Mystery Problem?

95 Del Sol, Mystery Problem?
This is my girlfriends car so I don't know Hondas that well. But this car ran fine then sputtered to a stop at a red light. Now it just cranks. It has spark and fuel streams out of the part just before the fuel rail when I removed the 12mm bolt that holds the banjo fitting. I tested power to injectors and reads 12v. Good! Bad, still don't start. Fuel rail has plenty of fuel going through it. Spark plugs all spark a nice white arch. Could the timing have jumped? I'm at a lose. Anything, anyone?
Thanks

Re: 95 Del Sol, Mystery Problem?
The only way I checked the belt was to watch the valve lifters through the oil fill hole. I know it's not broken but maybe some missing teeth? The car started to stumble approching a red light. She put in the clutch and re-started it then died again at the light. Never to start again.
Another update: Compression results show a low of 142 to a high of 160 lbs. These were done about 3 miles before it died. I can't find anything wrong with this car other than it doesn't run.....
Thanks.

Re: 95 Del Sol, Mystery Problem?
Yes, I did a second compression test. Well, two of the cylinders and they showed identical results. Which makes me think that the belt did not jump. I originaly did the test because the car was a quart low on oil. So, I did the test, topped off the oil and ran fine for 3 miles. Car has 152K on it. Timing belt has been changed and I'm currently trying to find out "when".
After work today, I will retest all cylinders and then.... I don't know what else to do.
Thanks.

Bump, plus another thought.
Could the air sensor on the intake cause it to stall and not start up?
Just desperate to try something.....

BUMP BUMP - same issue here - (using search function in the forums is junk)
I have a 1993 del sol Si - Running a D16y5 - after a heavy rain I go out to start my car and it runs for about 10 seconds then it died - after that - I am having the same issue this guy is - Replaced and gapped plugs - checked for spark all good no moisture in the distributor cap - rotor looks good- checked plugs they are firing - fuel pump is priming - have yet to check injectors - looking for a link on how to do that myself.

well I checked the injectors and cleaned em up and the fuel rail - everything looks great - I put it back together and still nothing - NOW the fuel pump is priming but the fuel filter is not spraying / building any pressure no fuel at all is getting pumped.. what gives?

Re: 95 Del Sol, Mystery Problem?
Update on what I have. I went back to check spark on "all" plugs this time and now I see random spark on some plugs. Now I think plug wires or coil. Plug wire resistance is from 0.0 to 6.8. Wires will get replaced then I'll check coil..... Hope neoburge gets sorted also....
Will update soon, I hope.

Re: 95 Del Sol, Mystery Problem?
Yea, I've never had a compression test fry a coil but with modern electronics, it could happen. I had a Chevy Metro with a cracked valve that oiled one cylinder for quite a while and ate up coil packs every so many thousand miles, which I found out afterwards. Apparently, coils don't like oily spark plugs. Anyway, I got a new coil and tested it compared to old coil. Old one on + and - shows 1.9 ohms. New coil shows 0.0 ohms. After work, I'll install and update.....

Re: 95 Del Sol, Mystery Problem?
Those coils are known to spontaneous go bad but usually it's a 100% shut off with no sputtering.
Checking timing is very simple. Align mark on crank pulley with mark on tbelt cover and check cam gear to say "up" w/ the arrow.

Re: 95 Del Sol, Mystery Problem?
OK. Finally result. New coil and it fired right up. So, it appears that after a compression check, the coil will last for 5 minutes. Anyone want to test that theory? It did sputter, restart, then dead. But strange, it showed signs of life when checking for spark (tricked me).
Thanks for all the help and replies.
