92 civic h22 code diagnosis question
its a 92 hatch h22a swap obd1 engine and harness p72 ecu, mods headers and straight exhaust, swapped out intake manifold few days ago with a skunk 2 pro series intake, along with a 70mm matching throttlebody, fired it up and it's idling very low rough idle what semms to be a misfire greyish smoke running PIG rich, firing order correct only things swapped to the intake were tps, map and iacv. ran the codes two long flashes back to back no pause between them which i would assume is code 2?

Here's your real problem. Is it tuned for these mods?
Assuming the P72 is also OBD1 I'm having a hard time understanding how it's throwing out a code for a second O2 sensor.

Re: 92 civic h22 code diagnosis question
no ecu is not tuned yet, but ive had friends do this swap with NO IDLE PROBLEMS OR RUNNING THAT RICH!!! i understand im suppose to get a tune im getting a s300 shipped already just waiting on that, and yes an obd1 p72 *facepalm* a shop did this swap *facepalm* i know i thought it was an o2 but then realized it says second o2 the ecu says dc2 on it and sticker says p72 which has me puzzled. so two LONG FLASHES BACK TO BACK is code 2? and it actually doesn't idle i have to rev it to 1k and SLOWLY bring it down for it to stay on but it idle so low that the engine knocks so i try to keep the rpm's up,

Unless it's a code #22 somehow. 22 VTEC pressure valve.
I swear I'm sure you're supposed to keep the harness that comes in the car when doing these things. But I'm not a swap expert so I don't know.

Re: 92 civic h22 code diagnosis question
update: put the stock h22a intake manifold back on and idled perfect. guess the p72 can't run those upgrades stock while the p13 can. we are now going to take it to bisimoto get hondata on the p72 bolt on the the skunk2 pro series intake and dyno. we are also going to drop in an lsd package with ls 5th gear, has stage 3 act clutch along with a 8 fidanza flywheel
