Default Need help, Code 14 iacv after changing to obd1

As the title states, I have a 98 civic dx with a d16y7 boosted. I was running the hack when i first got it done and today i received my phearable ecu (good product!). So i got the harness to swap it from obd2a to obd1 and had them put the base map in it and i hooked it up and had a terrible idle so before calling phearable i checked the codes and it came back to code 14 (iacv). Now i have tried searching for a solution but all i found were for problems with engine swaps.

Can someone help me out here, Also i still have the stock intake manifold on it. This is my DD so i need to get it fixed tonight. Thanks

I have a D16Y7 on my 92 LX which is OBD1. I'm still using my D15B7 intake manifold. My engine came with the D16Y7 manifold but I couldn't use it since it was meant for OBD2. The sensors are different (locations at least) on both manifold. My IACV is located on the back of my B7 intake manifold whereas the Y7 manifold has it on the throttlebody. I'm thinking it's because one manifold uses 3 wire IACV and the other is a 2 wire. I'm not too sure on that though. You might have to re-wire the IACV. Hopefully someone can help.

Your ECU is looking for the IACV that is normally mounted on the back of the intake manifold (OBD1) but yours is mounted on the throttle body. You will still be able to get it to work but I'm pretty sure you will have to re-wire it.

The car idles at 1500 rpm and if i give it partial throttle it acts like its on a rev limiter but if i go wide open on the throttle its fine.

How do you rewire the iacv? Thanks HT

Yes, my car acted EXACTLY like this when I disconnected my IACV. I also had an air leak at the same time. Normally when you unplug your IACV you idle should DROP alot, but since I had sort of a leak somewhere else, my idle went UP instead and partial throttle made it sound like a rev limiter. I tried driving it with the IACV disconnected it, gave it partial throttle, I was in 1st gear, and all of the sudden the car SERIOUSLY jerked back and forth since the IACV wasn't connected. I myself don't know how to wire them since I've never done the job.

I may not be making much sense so I hope someone can PLEASE help me out here. If I am wrong, please correct me, but he's having the same symptoms I had.

I'm gonna go and see if I can make my car do this again. I'll record a vid.

I recorded this so people don't think I'm crazy when I say unplugging my IACV causes the low rev limit. Does your problem seem like this? Ohh and I forgot to mention, OBD1 intake manifolds use the FITV to control the idle while the engine is cold. OBD2 uses the ECU to regulate cold idle. You don't have an FITV (Fast Idle Thermo Valve)

Here's the vid I just recorded 5 minutes ago.

In the vid I don't know why I said "blip." I wasn't actually blipping the throttle, I was actually partially holding it.

Edit : I also uploaded the video to my photobucket again just in case youtube acts stupid (has been so slow to stream certain videos lately)

So what i need to know is how do i rewire the iacv. someone please help i need this done tonight. Thanks!

when i went to obd1 on my 97 civic with a d16y7 and a y8 intake manifold, i had to swap the iac wire form like the 12 pin to the 14 or something it was a while ago but that could be your problem. look at a wiring schematic to see what needs to be done
