Great work and execution but man it's a mind **** looking at that picture, im so used to seeing the stock steering wheel right up against the column. I know as long as it serves the purpose it was designed for then who cares but man it looks crazy.
I'm sure it only looks strange because i'm so used to the original.

The EP3 is getting to that point where everything is built and Its awesome to enjoy all that hard work. Even though it still needs a lot of test, tune, refining an so on, it's already a strong performer as it. Let's see how's going around the track the fastest come August!

Are you with the CJ Wilson team? We had a bit of a disappointing run last weekend, engine failure after 10 laps . Rough since it was one of 2 races we had scheduled for the season and lost a shot at one of them. Was still a great experience being at Grand Am as always though, hopefully we will make it to LRP.

Your cars look really good with those 9's. We built our car in 08, a year before I started so I had no say in the wheel choice

More setbacks :/
Upon assembling the mainshaft I could barely turn 3rd gear, and 4th and 5th had more drag than they should. After a chat with James at Gearspeed, he said I most likely have one of the first sets of their 2nd gen carbon synchros that have issues with tight clearances. They have since revised the design so Im sending my 3-4-5 syncs in and having them replaced with revised parts totally free of charge.
I also need a mainshaft holder tool for setting thrust clearance and to wait on it may be up to 2 weeks
Does anyone have one I can borrow/rent? Ill need it asap, early next week.

All i do it take the old clutch disk and put it on the main shaft and drill a hole to use a screwdriver to hold it in place.

Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
Once again putting an update together in the middle of the night cause its the only chance I get!
So Ive been keeping myself plenty busy, between trips to NY every weekend to take care of some personal stuff, and getting in any spare time I have on the hatch to get some much needed things done.
Worked on her last friday and bled the brakes with my girlfriend, washed the wheel wells and susp, then did an oil change. Put in about 4 hours
Brakes got bled just as a double check before the next track event, turns out I got a couple little air bubbles from the LF.
.
.
Heres a quick look at my new hood prop as well. I picked up an RSX prop and mounting clips since the old prop interfered with the new PS pump. The RSX pivots from the driver side instead of the passenger, therefore it clears the pump with plenty of room.
I had to make new holes for the pivot and retaining clips, as well as cut, clock, and shorten the rod. All said and done it looks and works just like OEM.
Sorry, didnt get any pics of the process...
So after the bleed and wash I got her on the lift to do the oil... (bled the brakes outside so I could wash everything while the wheels were off)
Once again some Castrol synthetic and banded S2K oil filter. I plan on running Hamps in the future since the Toyo Roki S2K filters are impossible to find now. Unless some dealer somewhere has some old stock, it seems all Honda filters are now made by Filtech aka Fram/Honeywell
.
.
Heres my little makeshift funnel... screws into the oil cap threads perfectly. Ive been using this thing for about 6 years
.
.
Buddy Club exhausts are like a fine wine, they get better with age
.
.
Last but not least I got my new front tires in today. I had been keeping a close eye on my fronts because I knew they were getting thin on the inside. After 2 back to back trips to NY the driver side broke through to cords
I ended up getting 23k miles and 2 track days out of them, with about 4/32 tread left. Not bad for a pair of tires that were never rotated
.
.
Glad to have new rubber up front, but man, I miss the sharpness of the old tires. Tread squirm on the freshies is definitely apparent, but also does take away a tiny bit of harshness
Gonna be flipping my rears side to side tomorrow to even out the wear
