Default Convert a 7 wire O2 sensor to a 4 wire?

I've searched and searched and this is all I found.

http://www.hybridautomotive.com/tech/o2/

Can anyone confirm that this will work and
get rid of the check engine light?

The sensor was broken off during a head swap.

The new 7 wire is $400.00

The 4 wire universal is $50.00

A no brainer lol

It has 7 wires in the plug. It's a 98 Civic HX with vtec-E. Maybe it's actually called a 5 wire i have no clue.

If you're still running the stock D16Y5 (HX engine) then I doubt it. VX/HX civic use a very expensive primary O2 sensor and there really isn't any way to get around it. The info you posted is converting the harness to run a 4 wire O4 sensor when swapping in an engine that uses a 4 wire O2 sensor.

search for a NGK L2H2, it's the sensor that you need, it can be found for a fraction of what honda wants for it.

fixed (the engine doesn't care, the ECU does)
