traction control remove? 4 dr si
does anyone know how to remove the traction control in a 2007 civic si?
i went to the track, and when i take off it laggs, and the warning light comes on.
im sure its the traction control, if not then comment on the possibilities.

VSA... if its on your motor will cut out and the ECU will help brake... turn it off and shes all yours. If it was off then any 'lagging' you felt could only have been the ABS which cannot be turned off... it works better than locked tires.

I dont know if it is possible to FULLY turn off the VSA. Usually what the manufacturers do is give you an on/off switch that'll switch off the "traction control" but it'll never FULLY disable the VSA feature.

I think he means like even if you press the button to turn it off, it's still kind of there just not as much if it was on. It's like if you redline going from 1st to 2nd and you chirp your tires, the little indicator comes on while its happening.

I dont know about that... i turned VSA off when it was wet out... straight slip all threw third no lights came on... it was basically a burnout off the line. LSD did help a bit but i just stomped on the gas so i spun the tires

When I turn off VSA on the civic there is no indication that it is even remotely on. </TD></TR></TABLE>ok i'll elaborate more. Turning off the VSA allows the tires to spin freely to get out of sand or snow or for other peoples cases burning out. Thats its purpose for an on and off switch.
On the other hand... When the vehicle detects tires breaking loose and the vehicle rotating, it'll still engage the VSA. For instance, when going around a road track... the VSA will still engage.
i've driven many cars with VSA or an equivilant, none of them were able to fully disengage.

If you can't see that gigantic button to the left of the steering wheel with "VSA OFF" written in caps, you shouldn't be on the road driving period.
