Re: Ignition timing d16y7

The CEL being lit with the service connector jumped is normal. If you've recently changed the HG and it's running hot, the first thing I would do is give the car a good, long, proper coolant bleed. ...

Re: Ignition timing d16y7

There ought to be four marks on the crank pulley. At least there are on the D15s, i'm assuming it's the same on the D16es. There should be one single white mark off by itself (TDC mark) and then...

Re: 1999 Civic won't start after replacing IACV

Spark, fuel, compression... check 'em.

Something quick you can do tell if it's generally fuel related is spray a little starting fluid into the intake duct, then try to start the car. If it...

Re: 95 civic coupe A/C question

Assuming, you have already hand-spun the compressor clutch plate to make sure the compressor is not locked...

I would make sure ALL leaks are sealed before installing a new drier (which you DO...

Re: Rear Window Install

That's some superb zip-tie stitching on that bumper there. Interesting color choices.

Re: EG civic Front A Arm bolt and Nut

Yea, that's what i suggested. Just remove the other bolt from the other LCA, take it down to ACE or Menards or whatever your favorite place is and match it up. Most of those places have isles of...

Re: 95 civic coupe A/C question

Any appropriately sized HNBR o-ring should work. They sell entire kits of them for $5-10 at most parts stores. Usually on a rack near the other A/C stuff. Just make sure it's HNBR A/C grade, else...

Re: EG civic Front A Arm bolt and Nut

imgur keeps deleting the pic. Here, check this pic out. He's talking about the 2 bolts/nuts that hold the radius arm (in red) to the LCA.

Re: Broken Bolts That Hold Sway Bar Bushing Now What? 1997 Honda Civic

Thanks. OP will need to use a 17/64" bit for the final cut, then.

Re: Coolant spray, possible head gasket problem?

I wouldn't immediately jump to the conclusion of a head gasket issue on this. Pressurize the coolant system and pin down the leak location. Replace/repair whatever is leaking. Bada-bing.

Re: Broken Bolts That Hold Sway Bar Bushing Now What? 1997 Honda Civic

Yea, just remove the swaybar completely, throw it in the trunk and drive to wherever you need. Hell, my 93 DX Coupe didn't even come with a swaybar

Re: Broken Bolts That Hold Sway Bar Bushing Now What? 1997 Honda Civic

The best options I can think of all involve MIG welding, oxygen torching, and/or drilling. If you don't have access/clearance for any of that, take the car to somewhere where you do.

If you're...

OP is talking about the two fasteners pictured here circled. They secure the radius arm to the lower control arm. It is sold by Honda as a unit/assembly, and those bolts/nuts are not sold...

Re: Stripped Spark Plug Hole Threads(3rd from left)

The kit he shows in this video is decent, i can personally vouch for it I've used it at the shop a couple times. Though put some damn oil on the thing before you go rethreading stuff... break that...

Re: intermittent a/c

Could be a lot of things. Did it gradually get like this, or did it just suddenly go from working great to this current behavior? If you warm the car to operating temp, turn on the A/C full blast...

Re: When to change transmission oil in '99 Honda Civic

~30k miles, same as ignition service interval. Whenever I do a tune up, i always drop 3 qts of ATF and top off. Makes it easy to remember, that way. :)

Re: Is This An OEM D15B7 Crank Pulley?

Glad to hear you got it off there. No thread locker called for upon re-installation. In fact, you're supposed to clean the threads and apply a few drops of oil, then torque to spec. Inspect the...

Re: EG civic Front A Arm bolt and Nut

You could remove the other bolt and take it to the local hardware store and just grab a bolt and nut that matches the length, diameter and thread pitch. It's probably just something like 12x1.5 or...

Re: Civic 1.5 D15b7 A/T - Temperature and CEL issue

I'm not sure what wires you were probing or how you were testing it, but that sounds awfully low. I would expect to see the sensor ranging up towards .8 or .9v if it were functioning properly. Even...

Re: 97 Civic SERIES of coolant leaks! Head Gasket?

This all sounds like a car that has been left sitting for a long time (year+). If you REALLY want to put your mind at ease about a head gasket, you can just go to any parts store and buy/borrow one...

Re: How to fix broken glovebox hinges

I got fed up fixing my glovebox hinges on my EG, and finding a 'Mystic Brown' glovebox is next to impossible these days, so I got a couple stainless steel multi-purpose hinges from Menards and tapped...

Re: Is This An OEM D15B7 Crank Pulley?

Nice! Never seen anybody lock the crank at the flywheel before. I can imagine that working great if done properly. I can also imagine somebody shopping for a new flywheel if done improperly. It's...

Re: Sanden TRF090/TRS090 A/C Compressor Thermal Protector Cutoff Temperature

Yea, the thermal switch can totally be influenced by outside sources (like a really hot header). I autopsied the old switch, and it's just a cheap little plastic thermo switch with an o-ring and a...

Re: Civic 1.5 D15b7 A/T - Temperature and CEL issue

Well, now you've eliminated the possibility of it being the pump, filter or fuel pressure regulator (assuming you tested the regulator per the service manual while you had the pressure gauge hooked...
