1999 Civic won't start after replacing IACV
1999 Honda Civic
initially the car started but shut right off and threw a check engine light for IACV.
I replaced the IACV and now the car won't start. It'll pop off and blow some smoke through the throttle body and that's it.
anyone have any ideas?

If this is a newly acquired car, start by checking the wire colors to make sure all the sensor plugs are plugged into the right things.

Spark, fuel, compression... check 'em.
Something quick you can do tell if it's generally fuel related is spray a little starting fluid into the intake duct, then try to start the car. If it starts up and runs for a couple seconds, then sputters out... it's fuel related. If that does nothing, start checking for spark.

Did you hook up the electronic connector and coolant lines back up? That's really the only reason you'll get the iacv code, unless the one you just put in is stuck or needs cleaning.

I checked the spark seemed intermittent. After I had my daughter cranking the car she kept it to the on position and one of the plugs was still sparking? Got shocked haha. I replaced the wires and now it's been running for the past 10 mins fine.

It's throwing a p1509 code. Manf control speed idle speed control auxiliary inputs.
I can erase the code but comes right back on before car even starts.

The 2 ecu's are pretty much exactly the same but it did remove the light. The underlined number I didn't think that number mattered.
