Re: The mystery of the dry and empty oil filter

Well... this thread was started in 2012. This engine now has 99K on it, and is doing great. So, it probably was a bad anti drainback valve. Problem has not happened again, so changing the oil filter...

WTB 88 (yes 88 only, they are different) CRx driver side seat pan or seat bottom or the whole dang seat. I must be too big and fat, mine disintegrated.

Re: Anyone know how to replace the bushings on the older type LCAs?

Thanks for the suggestions phunhaus. I managed to get the bushings installed once I realized the trick to it. The bushings are not symetrical, one end is about .02 to .03 inches larger. ...

Re: The mystery of the dry and empty oil filter

I can see that a bad anti-drainback valve might let most of the oil drain out. But since the filter is mounted sideways, shouldn't some oil remain in the filter? There is no oil in the filter, nada

The mystery of the dry and empty oil filter

Anybody ever changed the oil and oil filter, and there was no oil in the filter?
How is this possible!? The oil pressure light does not come on, and the car runs fine.
Car is a 1988 CRX with about...

Problem: Lack of power below 3000 rpm--IT WAS THE ECU

After checking every sensor on the engine, and not finding anything wrong,
I noticed that the shop manual always said to replace the ECU if...

Re: New engine in CRX, but a problem, need suggestions

The engine bogging problem is mostly better now.

Replacing the fuel filter helped, but I suspect this just gave a boost to a weak fuel pump. I have ordered a fuel pressure gauge, and will see if...

Re: New engine in CRX, but a problem, need suggestions

No codes, stock P28 ECU, 4 wire O2 sensor, new distributor, wires, plugs.
I have Amsoil breakin oil in it now, will change at about 50 miles.

New engine in CRX, but a problem, need suggestions

I just put a new engine, trans, clutch, etc. in my 88 CRX
The engine is a d16z6 head, manifolds, distributor, ECU, ...
on a D16A6 block. I also installed an AEM cold air intake.
I just started it...

Re: Stripped Trans Bolts...

The trans is a bit complicated, they all take the L3 trans, but the DX, SI and HF all have different gear ratios inside. The 88 trans also had a different number of splines on the input shaft. I...

Re: Stripped Trans Bolts...

That looks like the rear engine mount? If so that would be a 12mm bolt. Make sure the thread pitch matches the replacement bolt, and make sure you have the drill bit size the heli-coil kit says to...

Re: Cranks, sparks, and breath's but does not live.

Re: Pictures of factory honed cylinder walls-D16A6

Very good deal on that B18 block
I paid $2200 for mine, and was glad to find it.
I looked all over for a decent rebuilt D16A6 or D16Z6 short block, and couldn't find one.

Re: crx with d16z6 with hf dizzy....but it messes up my timing..

I suggest you use the z6 distributor, and get a P28 ECU, then you will be running a stock z6 (I assume you are using the z6 intake manifold, etc.). I am not sure what sort of adapter harness you...
