Re: Occasional Bogging/Loss of Power B16a

I recently swapped out the TPS for a new one, and unfortunately I still have the same problem. I set the new TPS position at the old TPS's former position. I get great throttle response, but I'm...

Re: Occasional Bogging/Loss of Power B16a

It has only has only happened when the car is fully warmed up. City driving is fine, but if I just keep a steady speed on the freeway for more then 15 minutes, it will bog for about 15 seconds. I...

Re: Occasional Bogging/Loss of Power B16a

I rewired the knock sensor to the b19 pin. Drove the car around for 2 days, and it has bogged every single time. Weird thing is, it doesn't throw a code, so I’m guessing that the sensor is wired...

Re: oil leak?

I'm having the same issue. I removed the solenoid, cleaned the gasket, cleaned up around the block & trans, and bolted the solenoid back up. It still leaks, but it doesn't seem to be coming from...

Re: Occasional Bogging/Loss of Power B16a

crvtectim and wanabebuff, you guys are awesome! I fixed the IACV and reset the ecu. Drove it around and started to throw code 23 (knock sensor). So know it makes sense why the car is bogging. I...

Re: Occasional Bogging/Loss of Power B16a

Since my car bogging issue is really consistent (after 12 minute of constant rpm driving), I started to see what triggers it. Only constant rpms for about 12 minutes will trigger the bog. I will...

Re: Code 9 and 10 car jerks

I don't see how adjusting the cam gear with the belt on changed the timing, but if it ran better, then you did something right. If it's idleing high, you can adjust the idle screw on the throttle...

Re: Code 9 and 10 car jerks

To keep tension on the belt, I would with one hand pull the belt off the cam gear. Once it's pulled off, pull up on it. With your free hand, grab a ratchet with a 14mm socket and spin the cam gear...

Re: Code 9 and 10 car jerks

What you are going to do is check to see if your cam gear is at Top Dead Center (TDC) when your crank is.

Look at the crank pulley. Get it at TDC. There should be 3 closely together lines...

Re: Check Engine Light Only On Start-Ups

Figured it out. I basically assumed that the code never cleared up until I drove around with the ECU uncovered, displaying the LED. It was infact code 23 being diplayed, not 14. I guess the code...

Re: Occasional Bogging/Loss of Power B16a

Thanks for the responses.

I don't see how a clogged cat would cause it to bogg. But it makes sense in the fact that it takes a while for the cat to heat up, which is around the time the car bogs....

Re: IACV, IAT, & KS plugs, Check Engine Light

Thank you. That cleared a lot of stuff up for me. I'm not running any codes now except code 23 (knock sensor) when vvt is engaged. I don't have anything plugged in there yet so I'm not suprised. ...

Re: Code 9 and 10 car jerks

What motor do you have?

Code 9 - No. 1 Cylinder Position (CYP Sensor)
Code 10 - Intake Air Temperature (IAT Sensor)

Code 10 is an easy one to get rid of. The sensor is on the intake runner...

Re: B16 idle question

800 rpms seems pretty low for a cold engine warming up. I think the FITV put's it around 1250rpms or so. Check to see if your leaking any coolant from the feed or return hoses on the FITV.

If...

Re: OBD-0 Service Connector... NO CEL when jumping

Is your engine swapped? If it is, service plug could be disconnected from the ecu.

I've heard cases were some obd0 engines won't display the engine light. Service plug is still looped, just...

Re: B16 idle question

Check the resitance on the iac. Should be around 10 to 15 ohms.

How does the engine idle if you set the idle at 750rpms without ac running? Does it bog when you turn on the ac?
