I think you can switch over to the A20 and keep the original keihin carb or slap a weber on it.

Retorquin the head in this situation will not help, once the head gasket is blown, its blown. The head bolts aren't torque to yield so they will be fine if you reuse them.

It should have two washers on the crankshaft timing belt pulley, one in front and one in the back to keep the timing belt from moving.

The carb model didn't come with an ecu. Its mostly module that controls emissions but its under the driver seat.

Keep it up! If you plan on keeping the carb set up and you don't have to worry about emissions, go with a weber. A lot easier to deal with!
