I think the issue has something to do with the motor swap and running an 8 valve HF head on a 16 valve DX car? But I'm leaning towards the timing being too advanced and making it run hot. The next...

Also, should I adjust the idle before setting timing? Even with the 16v head it idled at 850-1000. I cleaned the EACV and it was still higher than spec. Would the ECU have anything to do with it?

I just replaced the injector o-rings on mine and it fires up faster. If yours takes a couple turns it should help that too

try cleaning the pcv valve. It goes from the valve cover by the distributor to the intake. Just take the hose off by the valve cover side and spray some brakleen in there and you'll feel air blowing...

306k miles it failed inspection and burnt up a valve, no compression in cyl#3.
tore it down, put used valve in, lapped them all.
New timing belt, tensioner, water pump, valve seals, head gasket,...

posting on your phone, nice! haha my accord will do the same thing for #1, it gets quieter when i push in the clutch. i still haven't figured that out but it did it before i got my new clutch too....

yeah i would go with putting new speaker cloth over the whole thing, or getting new speakers that will fit it and have their own cover, i can't stand the stock speakers even with a new head unit

AEM makes some type of filter that goes halfway through the intake that's supposed to work when the main filter gets water in it, i saw it when i was ordering the cleaner for it.. it's like $60 though
