Accord Speaker Grills

Accord Speaker Grills
So the previous owner of my 1999 Accord decided to cut a hole into the stock grills and put speakers in it. Well the speakers are gone and now it's left there and looks super ghetto. How hard is it to take out the stock grills and replace them? Could I just try to put some speaker grill cloth over it? Any other idea's? I'll post some pictures of it later.

The grilles are part of the door panel. On the fourth gen Accords, the grille can be removed from the door panel after removing the panel from the door. Majestic Honda's site doesn't show the grilles as separate from the door panel for 1999. You might take one off to see if the grille can be separated or not.

yeah i would go with putting new speaker cloth over the whole thing, or getting new speakers that will fit it and have their own cover, i can't stand the stock speakers even with a new head unit

I've done it so many times on mine, it only takes about 5 minutes. There is a Honda dealer on ebay that sells Honda factory 6.5 inch speakers with separate tweeters that sound better than the original single cone speakers, and they plug right in.

The grilles on your 99 don't appear to be separate like the 90-93's. Don't know of a write up.

not sure if 99's are the same but on my 94 you can just pop the grill off if you pry with a flathead around the edges. its a b*tch to get them back on but i have done it 3 or 4 times on both sides without breaking anything.
