Re: please tell me why !

Never drive without a thermostat. Like suggested, check for air bubbles, bleed the system well. Make sure proper amount of coolant is in the system. Check to make sure your water pump is working....

Re: LS HEAD WITH A CROSS THREADED SPARK PLUG HOLE!!! =/

First off, you paid $30 for a LS head with a bad spark plug thread. That is not cheap. I get them for $10-20 in perfect condition.
Second of all, use a timesert spar plug kit, not a helicoil for the...

Re: N/A build; valve question

It's recommended to have a valve job performed anytime you rebuild a head that's seen lots of abuse or mileage. Specially when you install new valves. Having the valves and the valve seats cut,...

Re: Clutch Recommendation

Purchase a clutch kit based off of your torque levels, not HP.

I've used several ACT clutch disc, from full faced to pucked disc, all have seemed to wear out rathter quickly, less than 30k miles...

Re: P30 Pistons in GSR

He's probably plugging in the GSR rods, rather than the LS/B20 Pr4 rods which are required to run the LS/B20 crank.

Re: IFO Montgomery 2010, Allmotor Pro winner (video)

Good for you if you've gone out of your way to help others. That still doesn't nullify a mistake now does it?
Tell me something, if someone asked you for let's say piston to wall clearance advice,...

Re: IFO Montgomery 2010, Allmotor Pro winner (video)

That's your excuse for typing wrong info? You just woke up? Whatever, and no, I don't know what you meant, I'm not a mind reader, so if you type wrong info and I know it's incorrect I'm gonna correct...

Re: IFO Montgomery 2010, Allmotor Pro winner (video)

It's cavitation not captivating. How does an engine builder/tuner get that wrong?

Re: Engine Timing, Underdrive crank pulley dosent have timing marks!!! aaaaahhhh

This is the same experience I had with one of my buddie's builds. He was set on using an Unorthodox AL pulley, despite my protest. A few months later he came over for a tune up. I was curious to see...

Re: B18C1 Rebuild time, Need advice

If you want it to last, have the entire rotating assembly balanced and get the car tuned. Do not use a stock gsr ecu or gsr basemap with ITR pistons and cams.

Let's bring H-T all motor forum back to life

I remember when I first started visiting H-T, OG members and mods really weeded out inappropriate threads. Back then, they didn't entertain "guess my HP" or "does my setup need a tune" or other...

Re: harmonic balancer question

Several shops will cut the p/s belt section of an oem unit, then have it balanced. Much cheaper than an aftermarket unit and it is actually functional unlike those cheap billet pulleys.

Re: Stock GSR girdle..

Re: Stock GSR girdle..

I've seen several B20 and LsVtec builds with GSR mains last without line honing. One of them has over 20k miles, daily driven, redlined several times daily. I'm not saying it's not a good idea to...

Re: B16a casting lines in ports

You've been taught lies. ITR heads have stock untouched ports. It's the throats which are hand ported

You know exactly what you're talking about :)

Re: B16a casting lines in ports

On a stock motor, most likely not. On a fully built motor, maybe 1-2 hp.

I've used those ITR copies and the PR3 copies on several builds. All still running strong. Perfect machine work and assembly is key.

Re: Notchy Shifting?

If it's a stock LS, there's no need for 91 octane. Dirty/old tranny fluid wouldn't explain why after pumping the clutch pedal a few times the OP can get the tranny into gear. It sounds more like a...
