Did you try a compression test? If not you should really look into doing on asap. from my prior issuse with random misfire codes. i found out that you should always try the cheapest soulution first...

what ever crankshaft you have you have to use the matching rods. such as, b16 crank will only work with b16 rods. the b20 and ls cranks have the same stroke. so you might be able to use a b20 crank...

that seems steep i just bought my 03 dc5 for 5500 with 103k, and all it needed was pads, rotors and battery. other than that its in great shape. maybe 5000 at the most.
