i have been thinking of doing this once i get my car back on the road but permitly closing off the vent and doing it like he does the integra clock pod

yes it is possible basically you will need to disassemble the unit and find the connector the ribbon came out of and open the connector and reinsert the ribbon and close the connector see below for...

this only works to reset the srs system to remove a light but it will pop right back on once the system doesn't see the airbag plugged in for the steering wheel what i did on my civic was unplugged...

i had this same issue with an integra i bought from a friend they previous owner before him installed the head-unit with out any type of wire connectors when i pulled it to see why the head-unit...
