Re: brakes making funny noise?

Start with a visual inspection. Pull off all the wheels and check all the brakes. Make sure there are no grooves in the rotors, check that the brake pads still have material, if the pads are low look...

Re: 90-93 Integra GS ABS sensor

If the distance is out of spec the ABS light will come on. If the sensor is too close then it's probably touching and causing damage. If the sensor is too far it won't read the tone ring and therefor...

Re: Obdo to obd1 distributor?

RyWire and similar companies sell full conversion kits to go to OBD1. You'll have a lot more tuning capability. You'll probably see an improvement in power and drivability since you're swapped.

Re: Thieves attempted to steal my car...

Agreed. I would reconnect any factory wires that were cut, removed the old alarm and do a stealth install on a new alarm along with a hidden kill switch. Sounds like a removable steering wheel and a...

Re: 92 integra oil leak and worn front end

I'm assuming the oil separator is what everyone refers to as the "black box" that is on the back of the engine. The factory catch can. O-ring for that is most likely a dealer only if it hasn't been...

Re: Tranny problems

Putting your thoughts into writing coherently would help. I got a headache trying to read your first post.
When you shifted into second by mistake, did you hear or feel any grinding or did the...

Re: Need advice, replacing transaxle seals.

The axle pops out of the intermediate shaft just like the other one pops out of the transmission. They tend to stick in the intermediate shaft, use a pry bar and maybe a hammer to get it out. When...

Re: tips on removing a stubborn cv axle?

Sounds like you've tried most of the tricks. Try threading the axle nut back onto the end until it's flush so you can protect the threads, the hit the axle with a big hammer, like a 3lb sledge, as if...

"Saying a stock bottom end will handle 7-8 psi you just sound dumb. get into the FI forum and learn" <----This right here is where we got off on the wrong foot. You wanted to sound tough behind your...

Re: Need advice, replacing transaxle seals.

Search EricTheCarGuy on YouTube and look up his video "How To Replace a Front Wheel Drive Axle. He has some really good DIY videos.

Re: Need advice, replacing transaxle seals.

You need to clarify with your mechanic exactly what seals he is talking about. More than likely it's the axle seals. You remove the axles, then pop the seal out with some leverage. You can use a...

Re: Ls Turbo question

I'm not necessarily saying psi is the main concern. You can run lean on low boost and burn up a piston. There are many factors to tuning a turbo engine. I was just trying to give the OP a ballpark...

Re: Ls Turbo question

lol. Slightly insulting, but funny. Perhaps I am stuck a little in the old skool technology, but I know what works. 8:1 was an exaggeration, but lower compression is tried and true for higher boost....

Re: Ls Turbo question

So I guess people who run a lot of boost install 8:1 compression pistons just for fun then? Obviously different turbos can produce different amounts of boost. He said he wants to know what is safe...

Re: 91DA Couple of questions on recharging the AC system

Alright, so after reading peoples' responses to my previous post I did some research, apparently I was very misinformed. Definitely illegal for anyone to vent R12 to atmosphere. So... my apologies! I...

Re: Ls Turbo question

The pistons aren't the weak point, but they do set the compression ratio. With stock pistons you are limited on how much boost you can run. The weak point are the rod bolts. Most people who build up...

Re: 91DA Couple of questions on recharging the AC system

That's what we're here for man. Glad to hear everything worked! Yes, it's bad for the ozone layer, but believe it or not it is legal for you to vent R12 to the atmosphere in your driveway. It's...

Re: JDM front end conversion = higher theft rate?

I wouldn't say Moog and Marty are the most educational to watch, but they certainly are entertaining! I've been subscribed to them for a while.
As for your question, do what you want to your car,...

Re: Ls Turbo question

What pistons are you running? If they're stock you can safely run 6-7psi. I would still recommend an upgraded fuel pump though. You'll probably see around 175 whp, give or take. Did you bore the bolt...

Re: Replacement of headgasket??

If you're paying someone at a shop to do a head job those prices are perfectly normal, at least here on the east coast. It's not a hard job for someone with experience, but if the extent of your auto...

Re: Replacement of headgasket??

Seem like normal prices. If you can afford it go for the whole rebuild. A valve job and some new valve seals will make sure you're running smooth and aren't burning oil.

Re: LS- Vtech problems

As I said before, most guys run a chipped P28 for an LS/V setup, though I think it should start with almost any VTEC computer. If you have another known good ECU available to use try it out. Simple...

Re: Car stalls/dies at a stop

600 RPM seems like a low idle. Main relays are relatively cheap though, so it wouldn't be a bad place to start.

Re: 91DA Couple of questions on recharging the AC system

It's like letting air out of a tire. Trace the lines from the A/C compressor, both the low side and high side lines have Schroeder valves. Uncap the valves and (while wearing gloves and eye...
