Well I got the part locally for $57 from O'riely. It looked to be about the same quality as rockauto's $47 (including shipping) deal. It came with all the nuts, castle nut, and cotter clip.

Okay so this is what I did to check the level of the ATF:

Started car, waited till coolant fan kicked on. Adjusted through all AT positions, then back to park. While car was still on checked fluid...

Well it appears your description was the MOST accurate of the bunch. I definitely had to take of the splash shield in order to get to two of the bottom bolts, but I found I did not have to jack up...

Yes I had to take it to the mechanic because it is overheating and as their dealer cert diagnostic tool found that both fan motors are worn out. As long as I am not in too much traffic for too long I...
