How to remove bumper on 2010 civic?
Hello,
Unfortunately my missus as backed into a post too low to see. She shattered the driver side tail light. Unfortunately you can't just replace the lens plate cover you have to buy a whole assembly and installing it requires one to remove the bumper in order to get to one screw, I believe. Is there some kind of how to on how to remove the bumper? I appreciate any knowledge here! The dealer wants to $188 and at least $50 to install it!
My misses works really hard and is not compensated properly, so I would like to be able to help her out with this if I can. I am pretty sure that I can get the light assembly from majestic honda for $90ish shipped. I am just trying to save her some money because I am sure the collision place is going to charge a premium to fix the dent and paint scratched on the bumper and trunk (beyond her $500 detuctable).

Just open the trunk lid and look for the torx head screw holding the bumper cover, the other bolts for the light assembly should be under the carpet panel inside the trunk.
If your working in a cold area make sure you get the car inside to warm up the bumper cover before trying to work the tail light out.
I doubt you have to take the bumper off just remove that large head torx screw and gently work the light out, you may have to turn and wiggle it but it should come out.
Check e bay for a light assembly it cost me big bucks for my chevy truck light and I could have got one of the same quality for half what the dealer wanted, I found this out a little after I ordered the new light, I paid 130 when I could have got one for 50.
