People have pushed their cars without a tune...it's possible, but being in boost only increases your chances of blowing your engine for a number of reasons. Oh and if you're running higher output...

Turbo is an air pump which simply pressurizes incoming air and then crams it into each cylinder...How do you build pressure without the pipes?

I had a similar problem, where the engine sounded like its a subaru... and it turned out to be exhaust leaks.
