Re: Horrible Rust, Repairing, is it worth it?

For those prices you could fly down to someplace in Georgia, take a short vacation, then drive your donor car back.

Re: EG hood fit INSIDE coupe?

In most places that's illegal, but if you explain that you're driving to get a new hood the cop may cut you a break, so long as you don't give him any attitude. Worst case it shouldn't be a major...

Re: Horrible Rust, Repairing, is it worth it?

If you can find a clean shell, it'd be less work to just combine the two to create a new, rust-free car. Then get it rustproofed.

In my circles we call rust in those spots Honda cancer, because...

Re: Going to check out new Del Sol, Some Tips Please?

More than likely the seller is a moron and has an Si that he's calling a VTEC because "it's got VTEC, yo."

eBay is full of those idiots.

Yeah those crank pulleys never go down without a fight.

I'm hoping you got lucky on the valves.

Re: 95 Civic Coupe WIRING!

If you have any melted wires, period, you must replace those wires. Not check to see if they're exposed. Replace them. Everything that's melted. New.

But really you should just get a new/used...

Re: distributor gave out?

All Honda engines I'm familiar with are interference designs. Which means that if a valve is open when the piston hits TDC it'll make contact.

If you turn over the engine and the valvetrain isn't...

Re: HOW to install aftermarket cam gear ?? WTF ? woodruff key ?

True, but I just saw someone necroreply to a thread, asking a question from someone who had a single (1) post on H-T, and that years-old post was the one he quoted. Hopefully he isn't holding his...

Re: What's the best flywheel I should use

I used to work with a guy who also owned a Del Sol VTEC.

Though it's very hard to tell an Si from a VTEC though, so you might've seen more than a couple. The VTEC sticker on the trunk isn't...

Re: Where to look for a engine?

I would seriously consider a H2B swap before buying a used B series.

All depends on what you want to do I suppose.

Re: del Sol seat recommendations

There's 1 or 2 jackasses selling a pair of seats on eBay for $200 plus $400 shipping, but last pair I bought off eBay were around $150 plus $50 shipping.

I would just setup a search on eBay that...

Re: Car running lean - Very strange scenario - experts only

This sounds exactly like a thermostat that's stuck open. When you start moving cold air flows through the radiator, quickly cooling the liquid flowing through the radiator, and with the thermostat...

Re: del Sol seat recommendations

Without the Del Sol seat pans you're going to find that most seats ride high. RSX & GSR seats fit fine as long as you swap seat pans, otherwise you'd be stuck with a high-riding seat.

Re: 95 sol ground up project!

If you don't mind me asking, what material did you use for the new trunk board? I'm assuming you just notched out stock fabric piece.

Glad to see you're taking the time to do things right instead...

Re: In need of a source for Quarter Panels on a Del Sol

Unfortunately eBay or another used parts supplier may be your only friend.

Someone backed into my rear quarter panel. :(

I actually bought the Helm body repair manual for Sols only to discover...

Re: Car running lean - Very strange scenario - experts only

If you drove around outside in cold weather and the engine never warmed up, it sounds like your thermostat is stuck open. I've driven around in sub-zero temps and the engine always warms up, the only...

Re: IACV Problem

I've heard of people soaking their IACVs when they're too lazy to disassemble them, but depending on what you're soaking it in the IACV can get damaged.

Re: The Del Sol Project

Only problem keeping Sols on OEM parts is Honda's stopped making about half the parts for it.

Those taillights have gotta go though.

Re: Stupid shifting mistake, now car is running strange

B16s sound like a superbike engine when you get them above 8K, that audio cue is how you know you did something very, very bad.

Re: Tips for removing rear lca bolts 96 ex?

Well, all the hardware stores near me are being driven out of business by Home Depot, Lowes, etc. who most definitely doesn't stock grade 10 bolts.

The few times I've gone to a hardware store...
