Re: D16Z6 Misfiring from 4k up (EKhothatch)

when you have a misfire no combustion takes place so clean air passes into your exhaust causing a lean A/F reading. this happens whenever i get missfires on my aem. so you probably only...

Re: (DaX)

ahh the joys (and extreme cost) of aem. the aem allows you to choose an exact dutycycle in % for all your rpm breakpoints and it has Idle feedback so even if you have it set to 40% duty cycle and...

Re: (Built B16A)

that was the idle adjust screw i was speaking of in my last post. the stock ecu has a preset map for the iacv so the only way to adjust idle is with that screw. once you switch to standalone system...

Re: (Built B16A)

sounds like the duty cycle for the IACV is set way to high in your uber data program.

with my AEM i keep the idle adjust screw all the way in and totally control idle witht he IACV it usually only...

Re: D Series Ninjas! Attempt #3. Mission: Don't blow head gasket (boostincoupe)

I think the thing I see most is know one gets the block decked to make sure it is perfectly flat. my built d16z6 came with the block decked and I had the head milled flat to. Then I used a stock ...

Re: DOHC vs SOHC

B series DOHC has a higher power potential. It has higher flowing heads, vtec on the intake and exhaust side and because there are 2 cams alot of the overlap can be dialed out using cam gears. it has...

Re: How many times have you sohc guys blown your headgasket? (CoolJimWhy)

I've had 2 head gaskets go on 2 diiferent engines.

one was when i first put my greddy kit using the blue box @ 5psi. the head gasket was either already blown and the turbo made the symptoms...

Re: (boostincoupe)

I made 188whp and 167wtq running greddy kit on a 93 d16z6 with 150k @ 8psi. i had a 255lph bbk fuel pump and the greddy blue box. pretty good for 8 psi and blue box. I think the much larger spearco...

Re: AEM EMS Tuning ? about timing vs base timing (ranta18)

yes the timing should be matched at idle or else timing will be wrong throughout the rev range.

if the ems thinks the timing is 16 at idle but physically the engine is at 16.5 then the timing will...

Re: Greddy kit showing 4.5psi while reving in neutral?? Wait, it gets better... (Nihilation)

when my sohc was stock with the greddy kit on it would just stay at 0 no matter how much i revved it in neutral. cars with tiny little stock turbos can sometimes make boost revving in neutral but...
