Re: oil light!!

I would verify oil pressure just to make sure there isn't a more serious problem.

Re: desoldering knock sensor circuit

No, I'm not dumb but I think you are trying to act smart but failed. Getting rid of the knock sensor is just an action, but for what reason? Trying to resolve an existing issue or just didn't want...

Re: what are you guys running?(swaybar)

I'm using poly D-bushings and endlink bushings for the stock front swaybar (to minimize wear and tear on the bushings) and upgraded the rear to a Progress bar. There's no need to upgrade the front...

Re: Is there damage done to the engine after I washed the bay?

Well, feel free to give it a try and spray cold water on a hot engine. Then report back with your finding. Rapid cooling on hot aluminum is guarantee trouble. One can expect similar result from...

Re: Is there damage done to the engine after I washed the bay?

Did you spray cold water while the engine was still hot? If so, the cyliner head can warp as a result. Like another person has mentioned, check for damped distributor cap as well as plugs, and...

Re: what distr. on h22 swap in 92 si??

Use the h23 dist. and connect to the h23 harness. Buy a H22 external coil bracket and mount it to the factory location. No wiring work, clean install, no problem.

Re: compression test is good or bad

According to the Helm service manual, the H23 has a max compression of 178 +/- 28 which comes to 206 psi. So OP's reading is not that far off from spec.

Re: How do I hook up vtec on H22 swap

The light blue wire is not there by default. The connector has a blind plug for the hole where the blue wire should go. If you have the pre-wired harness, you need to remove the blind plug and...

Re: compression test is good or bad

Keep in mind an older engine with high mileage may have carbon build-up on top of the pistons, which can easily cause the compression to increase. Same reason why older cars tend to knock more and...

Re: How do I hook up vtec on H22 swap

If you have a 93 si (same as mine), then it might be already pre-wired and much easier than you expected.

Look at the connector and wire color code for C484/C139 and C426/C134...

Re: Anyone running magnaflow spun cat?

I'm using one but mine is metal core. The one in your link is a ceramic core. It works great so far.

Re: from H23 to JDM H22

Not always true. MY jdm motor from hmo definitely has the switch. I've done the same h23 to h22 swap.

Re: Ran over a pot hole

The thick supporting plate/washer, #12 in the pic below is probably damaged, missing, or replaced by an incorrect washer.

Re: Let's all make fun of the new guy(me) and answer a Q in the meantime :)

I just did this to my 4th gen but with a slightly different approach. I bought the cheap ebay catback mainly for the pipes and flanges. I hack off the rear muffler section and sold it, then bought...

Re: Do not buy from Shutta

Just to clarify that USPS (the post office) does not offer minimum insurance of $100. If you didn't pay for insurance, it's not covered.

UPS on the other hand has $100 insurance coverage by...
