Re: JDM F23A vibrations after swap...

Yup, I used the bolt + checking both alignment marks on the pulleys. I also like to verify the old belts VS the new via putting a paint mark on the pulleys and the belts and transferring that to the...

Icon5 JDM F23A vibrations after swap...

Hey HT peeps! It's been a LONG time since I've been on here, so it's good to be back! So I had recently swapped in a "new" JDM F23 into my 98 CL to replace the worn out F23 that was in there. The...

Re: 1st aluminum rollcage I have ever seen , pikes peak car

Three words: Isle of Man? I'm sure you know, there is always a Risk VS Reward in racing. It just so happens that there are people out there with the balls to take more risk than the average...

NASA cage spec questions...

I just noticed the new cage rules, and it looks like they've removed 1 5/8" tubing from the rules. Should I still be able to pass if my cage is already made from 1 5/8" .120wall ERW? I don't know why...

Re: New Factory Five racing car and design competition

lol. Yeah it sounds like I could do better, but it would be no normal 4.6L. It would be a slightly "detuned" version of the 5.0 "cammer" motors that's run in the Rolex daytona prototype series. ERL...

Re: New Factory Five racing car and design competition

I've looked into Mendeola as well, but I've been curious how well they'd hold up on the street since they're intended mostly for sand rails? Also they're final drives seem to be really high unless...

Re: New Factory Five racing car and design competition

I would much rather build a SL-C super car. IMO the quality is much higher than FFR and the price reflects that (40K for a kit). However like RC000E mentioned, it is still just a kit car but that...

Re: awesome score on cold saw

Recently our old shop had a $14,000 Hydmech bandsaw sold at auction for only $3500.

It's surprising the deals you can find right now since manufacturing took such a hit.

I'd look into Enco and...

Re: Shop floor coatings?

Make sure you prep the concrete! It needs to be cleaned and then etched with muriatic acid. It's just like painting bare steel. The U coat it and Griot's garage both seem to be some of the best.

Something a little different...

It's been a long time I've posted on HT, but I thought I'd share our Turbo'd Jeep Cherokee project. The rig has been turbo'd for almost a year now and still pulls great.
