Re: 2007 EX: Power Steering Leak

Easy fix. The o-ring on the reservoir side of the pump was bad. This same o-ring goes bad on many Honda/Acura models, I've had to replace it on my Pilot as well.

Just pulled the RF wheel, and...

Re: Starting up Autocrossing

I realize this is a bit late, but I agree with the advice to do nothing to your car until you have driven at least a few autocrosses and have an idea what you want to do. Its likely cheaper to buy...

2007 EX: Power Steering Leak

My wife has a 2007 EX Coupe with manual transmission, around 100k miles. It has the conventional hydraulic power steering setup. For the last few weeks, it has had a fairly heavy power steering...

Re: Accord 4cyl trouble - water in oil, headgasket replaced, ???? (jweller)

Re-read my title, should be "oil in water". I think my oil is actually pretty clean.

Did you ever race your car? Is it modified?

Mine is bone stock, never really been driven hard, but I do...

Re: Accord 4cyl trouble - water in oil, headgasket replaced, ???? (jweller)

How many of these have you seen/heard of?

Didn't see any cracks in the block but I didn't look particularly hard for one other than on the head mating surface.

$350 for a shortblock, longblock,...

I may need to replace the engine in my 99 accord 4cyl. Can anyone recommend a shop between Miami and Melbourne that is trustworthy and affordable?

All I will want is a low mile stock 4cyl to...

Re: Accord 4cyl trouble - water in oil, headgasket replaced, ???? (GZERO)

The car always sits at about 1/3 on the temp gauge (no numbers on it). It ran there for the two weeks after the head gasket until it overheated, when it got to about 3/4 on the gauge.

I'm pretty...

Accord 4cyl engine trouble - water in oil, headgasket?

Please see my thread in the tech forum and reply there. Short of it is I think I blew a head gasket, replaced it, and now I'm having the same trouble.

Accord 4cyl trouble - oil in water, headgasket replaced, ???? (long)

I'm having all kinds of trouble with my 99 accord 4cyl 5spd (101k miles). About a month ago I arrived at work, shut the car down, and heard the radiator bubbling. Turned the ignition back on and...

WTB: 4lug factory Acura CL wheels

Prefer the satin split-spoke style, will consider any. With or without tires.

I'm in South Florida if it makes a difference.

Re: This month's GRM (stevel)

When you can scam drives in cars with $2000 brake rotors, junkyard dogs just aren't cool anymore.

Re: Car set up for 94 Integra GSR in Solo 2 G-Stock? (andrew n)

We ran 225 kumhos in front and 205s out back. Screws up tire rotation (you go through fronts much faster), and the car won't respond as quickly, but you get more ultimate front grip. For shocks we...

Re: Help! Club Technically Challenged. Computer software (Knestis)

Re: Well, here goes nothing...or everything (elgorey)

I was thinking of possibly Randy Pobst, but I don't know what he does during the week, or what his source of funding was when he was autocrossing/club racing.

There may be a few more in...

Re: Well, here goes nothing...or everything (XR4racer)

Just one more thing to add. Anyone have an idea of how many American drivers make a living off of racing alone? And of the ones that do, how many of those didn't have a rich daddy or family ties to...

Re: Well, here goes nothing...or everything (Aahj)

How are you going to afford racing on a mechanic's salary? I'm a mechanical engineer and I can't afford it and still have a balanced life outside of racing. To have pro aspirations, you need to...

Re: Karting: A viable alternative? (Driven)

And it'll fit in a chrysler mini-van too. Or someone on here had one strapped to the back of their 4g civic. With two people you could probably put one on the roof rack of a low car.

I've got...

Re: Karting: A viable alternative? (Driven)

I think you can start at a 125 if you're willing to go slow and not jump into w2w right away, and you're willing to accept the risk that someone might drive over your shoulder at any given moment...

Re: Karting: A viable alternative? (GSRMatt)

I'll reinforce what Shortbus mentioned about local shifter drivers, and what I was hinting at when I said some classes are more "recreational" than others. Karting on the danger/risk scale is...
