Because of the mismatch, Would that automatically make it detonate? Has someone else have this mismatch before and the detonation destroyed the engine?

Yes I was planning on a cometic 85mm gasket if I was to use this combination.

I know its not the best of combinations running mismatched bores, but am I going to run into problems with this...

Bottom end is built already with 84.5mm pistons, and its all set in the engine bay with everything (tranny, axles, wheels, etc.) ready to go, just waiting on the head.

I dont know the answer but I would say get the ITR intake, but whatever you do, dont get the B18C1 intake as the Gsr Intake manifold puts the throttle body much lower than the type r throttle body.
