Default What wheel setup for the track?

Building an eg for the track, but not exactly sure what the best setup would be for the tires. I was thinking of going with 15x8's and 215/50 or 225/50 tires, but I'm not sure what offset would be the best to give the most clearance and least rubbing issues. I'm going to be running 12k (672) front springs and 8k (448) rear springs so rubbing shouldn't be that much of an issue.

there are several wheel threads on this forums and others.... and i dont have an EG (yes your chassis does matter) so i cant really tell you about offsets BUT....

225/50s arent what people use. they are slightly too tall and mess with gearing/rollout. you should be looking at 225/45s. I'm running 205/50 on a 15x7 and i think they are working out pretty well on my dedicated track integra.

205/50 and 225/45 are going to have the most performance tire options as well. Wheel offset is going to be in the +35 to +42ish range. But it's a track car right? Use spacers and/or roll, pull and cut fenders where needed!

Based on your drivetrain setup, what's your gearing want? are you looking to stick to around 23"OD or go taller?
Are you looking for R comps or street tires?

There's a new Maxxis 245/40-15 200tw street tire I'd check out, if 23" OD is what you need.

Should have added this in, but its going to be a daily/track car for a little while. Also the most I would do to the fenders is roll them, want to keep the car in good shape. Going to get street legal race tires not sure what yet though. Going to run the stock jdm itr trans and OD will be around 23".
