Default Weekend Warriors (Coupes)

I was wondering of those drivers who use the civic on the weekends who either track it or auto-x it do you remove the rear 1/2 of the plastic panels and seats? I am not sure of how much weight you save but I am curious on what you guys do or if you have pictures?

Flame away if you must but looking at it from a weight savings, and to see how raw it looks bare metal. I know a lot of hatch drivers do it.

Jeez. It's plastic. Next to nothing in "weight savings". Seats? Take yours out and weight them if you need to know. And this is a friggin' old topic had you searched before posting.

if you remove your interior pieces or have strut bars etc... your class in autoX changes. so yeah unless you got a modified car dont take off plastics and rear seats to look cool and save 10 lbs. read the guidelines/rules of the course. is it a legit event? or just some local thing at your town? and for autoX I would assume more weight in back is a + in some cases if you know how to drive and have the correct suspension setup.

Maybe you should post this in a more appropriate forum.

I would guess 15-25 pounds max for all of it... Not worth it IMO. If you're going to autox or run it on a road coarse, I would suggest moving your battery to the trunk instead, this redistribution won't do a ton, but more than removing your rear interior.

RonJ@HT - No worries on his response I had a feeling something like that would happen.

Thanks everyone, that is what I thought but I wanted to ask. I figured I would search ask now while it is out given that I had to throw out the broken stock rear deck speakers.

Any reason why the hatches do it?

Searching here sucks... try googling the questions using "honda-tech" in your search string.
the archives just jump out at you then.
Lots of reading to be done at that point.

Search works absolutely fine if you're using the advanced search and not the cheesy search box at the top right.

If you really wanna add some juice to your searches you can search for stripped interior site:https://honda-tech.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=19 in google and it will literally only search for threads in this sub forum.

Pee before you race; it'll make around the same amount of difference as stripping your interior
