Taking out rear seats
Hey y'all, may take out back seats in my 'vic. Good idea for weight loss right? But now what the heck do i do to the interior after. I dont want to rip it to bare bones and i'd like to maybe carpet it back there. Suggestions?
Oh and i wonder how tough it is to take em out...?

dont bother. it will be good for less 1/10th a second at the 1/4 mile at best.
Im not much of drag racer myself, but I have been told when first starting out, 100lbs of weight removed from the car is equal to 1/10th a second down the track, but only to a certain point.

Re: Taking out rear seats (navin)
To each his own...
I'm stripped and love it. The weight DOES make a difference. I went fully stripped though; no carpet, no door panels, no rear seats, no plastic trim (except for the a-pillar and the dash), no cess, no mess.
Once it goes trailer only, I'll be ripping out the airbag, the firewall mat, and whatever else I can find. Oh yeah, I'm also on a weight loss program myself!
The only thing I kept from the interior, is my floormats. The floor get's a bit to slick without them.
It's louder, less comfortable, but the extra input I get from the car is great.
My $0.02
