Progress 22mm rear sway bar doesn't need any bracing. They only recommend tack welding the mounts, for those interested in buying a sway bar and not having to spend extra money on extra bracing parts. As long as the car came with a factory sway bar, that is.

Right.

And what makes the Progress 22 different from the EK9 or ITR 22 which do need bracing?

Well here is a picture of mine. I wanted a black ASR brace, but I found this gold brace and JDM ITR rear sway for cheap locally and couldn't refuse. And actually the gold looks good on the my black car.

I would recommend anyone looking to do this to use the ASR brace. It is a great piece of work and the quality is great too. I love this setup.

Working on a fix , probably a replacement with a ST swaybar that doesnt have a preload on it.
Amongst other things.
or try skunk2 lcas..they have 3 swaybar provisions on each control arm for preload adjustment

I can attest to this. Years back I had a '96 Civic Ex Coupe with a 22mm rear sway with the Beaks kit. The sway bar used to creak and make a lot of noises so I yanked it and found the holes were getting wallowed out, even with the Beaks kit to the point it would have failed.
