Default Dx to vx swap (eg) question

I am on my iphone and could not find a good answer so please help me out.

I am need to know if my dx chassis is pre wired for only a 4 wire o2 or if it is also pre wired for a 5wire. I am about to put in a vx swap. If it is not pre wired for 5 wire can someone please post a link or pics of both ends of the shock tower and ecu plugs showing me what wire i would need to add.

I will have the vx engine harness, and my dx chassis harness is unmodded

Thanks in advance

No it's not prewired for a 5 wire O2 sensor.

I *think* you have to do this in reverse:

I believe you also have to add a wire or 2 to the chassis wiring harness.

if your putting in a vx motor which is vtec-e lean burn you need to use that harness and the vx ecu a po7 to make it run correctly, make sure you have the proper o2 as well.
the dx engine harness plugs on the fender should plug right up, your going to have to get a custom harness made so you can hook up your vtec selonid, and o2 and egr to your ecu or you can depin and wire just buy a harness it's alot easier. boomslang or rywire can make one for you just tell them what your car is and what your putting in there.
i did a vx motor in a crx hf, your probably not going to be able to run an egr though without having all the firewall mounted stuff that usually came on crx hfs, vx's, and hx's to use the egr, i'm having trouble with mine right now so i'm going to see if it messes with my gas milage by not running it

good news when i drove from chicago to daytona doing 75-78 mph i got 45-47mpg the whole way down, before egr problems or may have had the whole time not sure but i'll still take that kinda milage

you can still use the dx harness, you'll just have to get a subharness made to run vtec selnoid, egr and a 5 wire o2 to the factory vx ecu p07.

getting a subharness makes it alot easier, you'll probably have to cut the factory engine vx o2 sensor plug so you can solder it to the custom harness so it will play and play to the vx 5 wire o2
use a ngk24300 but thiers 2 differant numbers guys have had trouble with them with it stumbling, it's an 08 or 09 number, dont remember which was the better one now

Ok thanks ^ for the info. I am still undecided if i going to do it or not. But i have been told that i could use stock d series o2 and stock p28 and should/run fine. But may just stay b series

My Del Sol had a VX (D15Z1) engine with a P28 and 4 wire O2 when I got it. Low end power was weak, it occasionally had a CEL, and the VTEC around 5K was weak. The VTEC-E should happen around 2.5k rpm, not the 5K+ rpm of the P28.
If you don't want to go with the 5 wire sensor and p07, I'd say sell the engine to an "ecomodder" and use another engine.

You can get the O2 sensor from: http://www.ebay.com/itm/110480691350...84.m1423.l2649
or from Amazon.com (same vendor)

Here's 2 threads that *may* help if you are still going with the VX swap:
