Default S2000 Engine Temperature PHAIL

Ok... so I have an 03 s2000 honda and well I just put new valves in and everything. We had 1 problem with trying to find a sensor connector to the engine temperature which is located on the very back of the engine where the windshield is. We ghetto'd it out a little just to see if the v-tech kicks in because it never used to kick in until we plugged the wires in. The wires have 2 pins which 1 wire is green and the other red, we connected them to where they are supposed to go without the sensor connector because it came off when we ripped apart the head. Now it was working fine just yesterday until all of a sudden I left my car idling and when I got back in the car the engine temperature gauge was almost at red!!! I was like WTF mayte... so anywayz I was looking into it and I saw my fan wasn't working... I checked all the connections that led to the fan and they looked fine... I checked the fuse and IT looked fine wasn't burnt or anything... I was reading up on a couple of forums that people had the same problems and they said something about a 12-volt switch which i dont know what that is... im kind of a beginner with cars. Can anyone please help?

I don't think these two phrases go together well, unless the other part of we is someone with mechanical know-how.

Yeah he is he's the one that helped me put my car back together. One of the valve tips was cut off like if you cut paper with siscors... but we got my car working again... Im just having a problem with my fan.

ah honda-tech is so helpful

if you're going to work on the car yourself, do yourself a favor and get a honda shop manual. the troubleshooting flowcharts will save you a ton of time and aggravation. either get a real one from Helm or there's a million places to get bootleg PDF versions, I like having a printed copy personally.

you probably have air in the cooling system. hence the fan not working. do you have heat?

There is a temp sensor for the gauge and ecu (vtec) and a temp switch for the fan. If you have the Helms just look up the fan trouble shooting and it will walk you through proper tests. Thermostat is proly not the problem. It's going to be air or the switch/switch connections itself.

I'm still going with it air by the thermostat and in the heater core. Jack up the car and run the car with the cap off . Then put cap on, let it run, shut car off, unscrew bleeder valve on I'm and let air out. Start car with cap on, rev it to like 2K and try n get the coolant into the heater core. If u need to take the cap off the rear heater core line
