Default Running two inches wider in rear okay?

Would it be okay to run 17x7.5 in the front and a 17x9.5 in the rear or is that going to seriously mess up the handling?

I have 17x8 17x9 and am just fine - but as stated, you'll need to list your tire sizes.

It shouldn't be a problem, with the right sized tires.

What offset are you all running with those 17x9+ wheels?

this is off s2ki and i used it as a reference for when buying rims on deciding the offset and tire sizing.

"For the front:
Offsets lower than +43 are not recommended on the front because a very narrow tire would need to be used to avoid rubbing.
+43 to +47 offset: 205 tires, 6.5" - 7.5" wide wheel
+48 to +52 offset: 215 tires, 7.0" - 8.0" wide wheel
+53 to +57 offset: 225 tires, 7.0" - 8.0" wide wheel
+58 to +62 offset: 235 tires, 7.5" - 8.5" wide wheel
+63 or higher offset: 245 tires, 7.5" - 8.5" wide wheel

For the rear:
Offsets below 40 are not recommended for the rear because a tire narrower than the stock tire would need to be used to avoid rubbing.
+40 to +44 offset: 235 tires, 7.5" - 8.5" wide wheel
+45 to +49 offset: 245 tires, 7.5" - 9.0" wide wheel
+50 to +54 offset: 255 tires, 8.0" - 9.5" wide wheel
+55 to +59 offset: 265 tires, 8.5" - 9.5" wide wheel
+60 to +64 offset: 275 tires, 9.0" - 10.0" wide wheel
+65 or higher offset: 285 tires, 9.0" - 10.0" wide wheel"

will be fine.7.5 is a skinny rim tho.might want to think about some wheel spacers to get it flush unless your goin to dump it on its face to the point of tucking them 7.5's up front...anything over a 215 tires not gonna look to hott.the tires not gonna sit flush on the rim..an flush is money.my 2 cents.

Well here is the thing. I got a set of Work Emotion XD9s 17x7.5 +42 for the front for 180 with tires on them already. So I am debating on what to go with for the rear.

This.

Know a couple of owners down here that run very similar setups and handles like a charm.

Ended up selling them and going to go with a 17x8+48 and 17x9+35. Any recommendations on the tire size that I should run?

I'm thinking the rear might have a problem.

with 245s in the rear, and +45, it's okay.
with 255s in the rear, and +45, it's okay at stock height.

anything lower offset or lower ride height and I can imagine running into some issues.

Also, this is assuming you do a bumper tab relocation. minor fender roll is recommended, but I have heard people get by without it.

Car is stock right now, but I just purchased JIC Magic coilovers to put in. I am aware that I will need to roll the rear fenders and do a bumper tab relocation also run some negative camber if necessary in the rear. The car is not my daily driver.

roll fenders/pull fenders relocate tabs stretch tires an massive camber should do it lol.even with all that done your rears are gonna be so cocked in at the top due to camber its gonna chew your tires to ****.good luck an post pics when your set up is complete.just keep in mind the lower you go the more camber is needed.
