Default Hardtop Install kit?

I have heard that some S2000 don't need the kit for the hardtop. Is this true? I am buying a hardtop tomorrow and my S is a 2000. Thanks.

How much you picking it up for?

and to answer your question , all of the s2k's need the MOUNTING hardware, which is the same for all years, only difference lies in the install instructions. the 00-01 models require an extra kit if you want to use the rear defrost, which is sold as a kit from honda. as i've mentioned in other threads that defrost kit is on backorder from honda and retails for around $350.

put your top down, look behind your seats on the interior trim pannel with the brushes.

see the silver bracket with a hole in it? if not you need a hardtop kit

you probably need it. since your a 2000 you will need the kit A which comes with the rear window defroster harness and switch.

Does anyone know where I can just buy the brakets for the hardtop to hookup in the back. I don't need the defroster kit or anything else. The hardtop guy wants $400 for them. Its just two brakets they should be cheaper than that.

Thanks
