Default Valve Cover bolts and nuts - stripped

Well today was an unlucky day for me. The timing belt job went super easy (that was my first clue there). When I started to put the VC back on 4 of the bolts stripped.

1. What is the likely hood that the nuts stripped and not the VC bolts?
2. How do I get off a stripped nut? The other three all came off.

Thanks.

Get a nut/screw extractor thing from the hardware store and you should be able to get them off. Then you'll know if the nut or stud stripped, but either way they should be easy to replace...

its not that the nut is rounded off, its that the threads are stip and will not spin itself off. I tried lifting up on it, while unscrewing it and that did not help.

cut them all off with a dremel. Then replace all the studs and nuts.

Can you get needle nose pliers underneath the nut? if so try that. If not try using a dremmel and cut the nut down the middle and remove it that way.
