Subs in a Prelude???

Subs in a Prelude???
I picked up a pair of Rockford Fosgate 12" subs in a factory box that measures H 15.5" x W 34" x D 16.5" (39.4cm x 86.4cm x 41.9cm). The problem is I can't get the box in my trunk. I've measured the inside of the trunk and in theory the box should fit. I just can't get them in. I havn't really gotten a chance to check it out but I don't think the rear seats come out so I can slip them in from behind?? Are there any trim pieces I can take out to get it to fit or will I have to get another box? Thanks for any help you can give.

there really aren't any trim pieces that would interfere with the box. the size and angle of the trunk opening is what you're probably having problems with.
If you can't get it in at all, most likely it is hanging up on the latch area/tailights, or on the arms for raising and lowering the lid.
If you can get it in, but it's crooked or something, then I'd guess the trim pieces around the shock towers are in the way and can be removed.
I'd recommend a smaller box and never get a flat tire.

I had to remove all the trunk trim pieces to fit my 2 12 kicker comps for it to fit, but I traded my bro for his kicker comp 15 so I can have more room in my trunk and actually use it for space.

For mine I made a false floor to replace the original one and cut a hole in it so the box will slide into the hole. That gave me an extra 6 or 7" of clearance I think...and I still have room from the box to the edge of the trunk and I can fit about 2 duffle bags full of stuff back there so it's not bad.

Build one with glass

I did enlarge this box a little to get a full 1 cube but for this sub thats perfect but it does require 500watts.
