i have a new panasonic deck installed last summer and i replaced all the speakers with new clarion speakers. my bass never worked before tho. it only made crackly noises but now it wont even make any. do you think it could be the new speakers are using to much power? im not a pro when it comes to car audio.

Untrue. I have an aftermarket head unit, and my 6x9 sub works just fine. Sounds like a wiring mishap in the sub amp area to me (or your sub amp is simply dead, as mentioned earlier).

how much did it all cost. i called up a shop and asked how much it would cost to fix and they said it could cost a little if they find out what is wrong fast but if they cant and they have to rip out the entire wiring harness which i almost did myself then i could end up paying alot due to labour cost. plus how do i go about installing that amp? whould i just bolt it down in the trunk?

Plus i do have a high powered bass/sub or i think it is. its 100watts more powerful then the stock. Plus im not going to install full subs it compromises the integrity of my coilovers i dont want to loose the whole handling gain for some intense bass

so is all the wiring to the rear speakers stock? if so its a two wire setup! if you are talking about the sub there is only 7-8 wires includeing the rca's... a little more info and i should be able to help you... a aftermarket cd player probably 45x4w or 50x4w is plenty to push the speakers in the rear, that is if your not talking about a sub.. try to adjust the settings on ur cd player, maybe you are missing something very easy!

Re: (DAHOTTESTLUDE)
all the wiring is stock in my car. it is just those two wires. i just dont understand it becasue all the other speakers work except the rear bass speaker in between the seats (it was an option that you could purchase at the dealer for the 4th gen if you didnt get that part) its not really a sub its just a 6x9 bass, im pretty sure its 6x9 whatever the size is i have the right size im jsut not sure off the top of my head. i thought it was my settings on my cd player but it was not that either. i acutally just think no power is getting through the wires. im pretty sure a wire is cracked. if i have a cracked wire can i still do that amp method or is that useless?

Re: (Prudz_lude)
you still get great bass and not add to much weight. Where the 6x9 goes put a 8 inch sub and use a small amp like MTX Thunder282. this setup give you plenty of bass and not make you car wiegh a ton more.

Re: (subydoored)
my question to that is since the stock 2 wires are completely dead how do i wire it. what wires do i need. do i need to buy ground wires and connect it to my battery? im a completely noob when i comes to audio. the only reason i was able to do the speakers is because i know very simple wiring.
