Parts question?

Parts question?
My previous thread Iasked about water pump failure. I recently had it looked at and indeed, my water pump is shot. Now as to the reason I am posting this NEW thread, my crankshaft pulley is aparently also Ca-fuked. they said luckily it is just the crankshaft pulley and not the crankshaft itself. i am running a jdm h22a. would it be more cost efficient in the long run to get OEM honda parts or aftermarket for the fixes. As well, While i have the timing belt off for the water pump i want to replace the tensioner,on that note i have a question. I have heard it is better to put the H23 tensioner on the h22 rather than the h22s stok tensioner. Any reasons as to why?

Re: Parts question?
Good question buddy.
Replace the water part with OEM Honda water pump, also replace the pully with OEM pully.
The H22 auto tensioner looks like a mini slave cylinder, it has preasure inside which pushes against a pully which tightens the belt, you dont have to adjust, once you pull the pin its tightened to where it should be. Sounds awesome right? WRONG.
You can be drving the it can randomly just lose preasure inside and your belt will loosen up and you will jump some teeth causing HUGE damage to your engine.
On the other hand when you do H23 manual tensioner, you tighten the belt to how much you want, then tighten a screw and your done, it wont tighten anymore or loosen.
I forgot where to find it but you can buy a h23 manual tensioner conversion kit online its like 80 bucks, has EVERYTHING you need to convert.
