Default Water pump question?

Ok im in progress of building a b16a turbo and in the mist of this my pops decides to move to mississippi (im in NY) and im staying here and getting an apartment... blah blah blah. (you are probally wondering what this has to do with a waterpump) I need a water pump and all non performance parts i buy from honda... (timing belt and **** like that.) The b16a honda water pump is like 100 bucks while i can get a carquest one for 45. Since its just a pully and an impeller do you think ill be safe with the carquest? (I gotta save cash where i can, i mean 55 buck is a phone bill)
any advise/experiences?

thanks

You should always buy OEM when it comes to water pump and timing belt. I say this, because it's a pain the *** to get to and take apart. Why not get the best and spend the money now it will last you longer then an after market part will.

the cheaper carquest will not last as long as any of the three OEM brands. Spend the money on the OEM.

OEM, they are pretty, shiny, and come in an official Honda box

yeah i am going oem on all those types of parts for my motor. stuff like axles i hit autozone but for parts like a water pump that are that hard to get to.. i would go oem. doing water pump in a b16 crx can't be fun.

I've used Autozone timing belts, and they've never failed me. Never used a different water pump, though.

I would say going w/ the cheaper one won't hurt anything.

i would not personally trust my engine cooling properties to non OEM parts
factory parts are designed to work the best
spend a little more now and be safer later
