just bought my lude
I just bought my 1998text bonds prelude and noticed after driving for a little bit that the temp is running almost dead center. It didn't over heat but it is running warm in my opinion and was wonder if this is a early warning sign of something going wrong. Checkejmd to cooling system for bubbles already.

Do your fans kick on and off properly?
I know my 92(4G) runs at the middle all the time, I know its an older car, but basically the same motor.
My actual temp reads ~200 degrees, on an AEM water temp guage, and the fans come on ~205-210. I'm boosted and running a Koyo half radiator, but my actual in car display looks like it always did with an F22 SOHC non-VTEC, and with the JDM H22 when it wasn't boosted, half way.

Yeah fans kick on like they should I just wasn't sure if there was an issue. It has been a while since I had a prelude and couldn't remember it being that warm

Mine is a 4G though, I only have 4 digital bars for my temp in the dash, not an analog gauge. I think the second bar that goes to the halfway mark turns on somewhere between 150-170 degrees an I think you have to be 220-230+ for it to go into the 3rd bar.
If you're concerned about it, hook up an aftermarket temp sensor and check, if you're not running crazy hot, don't worry about it.
If you want to worry about it anyway, go get a lower temp thermostat, they should only be $10-20, I know Rockauto sells them for like $5.
